CSD was founded by high school students who saw a gap: Spanish-speaking students lacked access to the same public speaking, leadership, and civic learning opportunities as their peers. So we built a grassroots solution — a tournament designed from the ground up with language, culture, and community at its core.

 

Fun Fact: Over 140,000 students in Colorado are multilingual learners. Roughly 13% of the state’s student population faces significant language barriers in traditional debate tournaments, which often require advanced English fluency. The majority of these students speak Spanish — and CSD is here to serve them.
